The familiar hum of Chicago O'Hare Airport filled the air as I watched fellow business travelers navigate their layovers. Though I thrived on the challenges of my career, the growing stretches of time away from my family weighed heavily on me. With our youngest preparing for college, the looming question of 'what next?' echoed in my mind.

That day, amidst the airport bustle, I called my wife. We drifted into a conversation about our future, envisioning life as empty nesters, and reminiscing about the shared passions that had always brought us joy. From that conversation, a spark ignited: NC Raised.

It blossomed from a confluence of our individual strengths and shared values. My love for woodworking, her flair for decorative signs, and our mutual commitment to sustainability found a perfect expression in crafting unique, engraved signs from reclaimed wood. We transform discarded furniture, pallets, deck boards, and other forgotten timbers into pieces that tell a story. Each sign, handcrafted and imbued with a rustic charm, carries the marks of its past – the natural aging, the unique contours, the weight of its history. We're always eager to share the origins of our materials, adding another layer of depth to each creation.
